STC Issues Publications RFP
STC is seeking bids from individuals and companies to transition the primary publishing format of Intercom and Technical Communication from print to web, with print copies available via print-on-demand.
Intercom is a monthly 44-page magazine with advertising throughout. Technical Communication is a quarterly scholarly journal with about 100 pages per issue.
Interested individuals and companies must respond to the request for proposals no later than 18 November 2009 for either publication. Partial responses will not be accepted. Eligible candidates for Intercom must:
- handle all aspects of digital publishing including redesign of magazine, template design, defining and preparing content for XML generation within a content management system, website design, and loading of content for each issue
- have successfully provided similar services for at least three magazine clients
- be able to publish first issue by 5 January 2010.

Eligible candidates for Technical Communication must:
- provide scholarly copyediting services in a timely manner
- handle all aspects of digital publishing including template design, defining and preparing content for XML generation within a content management system, website design, and loading of content for each issue
- have successfully provided similar services for at least one other journal client
- be able to publish first issue by 5 February 2010.

The successful candidate will coordinate the printing and delivery of print-on-demand copies of each publication for those who prefer to receive printed copies.
