Technical communication is growing and expanding to help people and provide value to organizations in new and exciting ways. I’m inspired by the innovative trends in our profession such as content strategy, user experience and usability, and mobile user assistance. Our profession is going through a fascinating transformation, and I’m enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve the society during this transformation. I look forward to working with the board to continue to advance our profession and serve our members.
Alyssa Fox is a senior manager of information development at NetIQ Corporation, an enterprise software company based in Houston, Texas. She has been involved in technical communication for over 15 years.
Alyssa has worked as an individual contributor, lead, and manager to build cohesive teams that deliver products relevant to users. Her interests and skills include technical communication, user experience and usability, process improvement, project management, and agile development practices.
Alyssa is a senior member of STC and has served the society in various roles at various levels. She has been on the Summit program committee for multiple years, and was the 2012 STC Summit Program Chair. Alyssa also served as a member of the Intercom advisory panel from 2010–2012. She has served at the community level in assorted positions, including president and treasurer, and has run multiple committees in areas such as competitions, programs, and hospitality.
Alyssa has presented at several STC Summits, PMI Houston conferences, and STC chapter meetings, and has won awards in the local STC competition. She was also the recipient of a Distinguished Chapter Service Award in 2010.
Alyssa earned a BA in history from Texas A&M University.
