- There’s a great deal of fascination right now with EPSS because complex software requires both performance support and knowledge support.
- Providing users with scaffolding to help them use difficult software is enormously valuable. Providing an EPSS that does this is the most obvious and easiest way to help users.
- However, user satisfaction can be enhanced still further by eliminating the need for scaffolding.
- That is to say, integrating performance support into task flow -- a fundamental PCD principle – takes software a step beyond EPSS towards optimal usability.
