Presenter Biography
Therese Harris is a publications editor with Washington State University Extension. In her nearly 20 years of editing and technical writing, she has found numerous instances of plagiarized material in manuscripts submitted for publication, including material that presented grounds for copyright infringement lawsuits. Her experiences have led her to initiate many conversations with authors about the pitfalls of using copyrighted materials and how and when to get permission to use those materials. She has developed and presented webinars on the use of copyrighted material from the Internet for faculty and staff at Washington State University.
