Candidate Statement:

STC has been through great change in the past few years. Moving into the future successfully requires visionary leadership. I have been committed to leadership development since the mid-1990s when I became the Manager of Leadership Training and Development Committee. I have since conducted many chapter leadership and Society leadership workshops. As a result, not only is my network is extensive and global, but I know what it takes to be an effective leader in STC.

I will be looking for people with vision, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to service. It is important, too, that STC leaders see the field of technical communication as an evolving profession—never static, always changing. Future leaders must be open to the possibilities and technological drivers of our profession. Innovation is the cornerstone of the future. To grow the profession, we need to be open to new ways to serve our membership and the community our membership serves.
