Serving as VP and President is a way of giving back to an organization that has shaped me personally and professionally through the opportunities I've had and the people I've met during my STC membership and volunteer work.
The vision statement that we used for the Global Strategies Committee summarizes my passion for our profession; it reads in part, "… our profession touches every industry, every product, every process, every aspect of life on this little blue marble. We, as professional communicators, have a unique opportunity and a responsibility that requires us to hold ourselves to high standards of excellence and continuous learning, and that we lead the way toward building rapport and communication channels with our colleagues wherever they live and work…." STC is in a unique position to activate and build on this vision of a truly global organization, and to provide education and leadership to the profession so that we can make the world a better place by doing our jobs well.
