Q: Why does this position interest you and what are your personal reasons for wanting to serve on the Nominating Committee?
I am running for the Nominating Committee to serve STC and STC members. I bring to this position a strong network of STC members at the local and society level, and a proven ability to work well with others to deliver results. As a member of the nominating committee, I will carry on committee business and develop an outstanding slate of candidates for society elections. I will do my best to deliver value to members and enhance your experience within STC.
My two years experience with the Community Affairs Committee (CAC) has taught me the importance of building relationships with diverse STC chapters. My 27 years experience as a Philadelphia Metro Chapter member has taught me the importance of the local STC chapters for building relationships. I believe trusting relationships are built one conversation at a time.
I’m interested in the Nominating position to help connect the best and brightest STC members with potential leadership positions. STC members will move the Society forward one conversation at a time. When we each share our personal STC success story, we show the value of STC. This value may be a job reference or employment. Or, it is the professional relationships and friendships that are the most important STC benefit. STC has been the one constant in my evolving technical communication career.
I want to focus on making a positive difference for STC now and in the future.
