The Member Get a Member Campaign rewards your chapter or SIG for encouraging other technical communicators to join STC. We want to encourage you to reach out, connect, and recruit during this campaign. STC will reward you for your efforts, as your chapter or SIG will have the potential to earn valuable prizes for its members, including:MGAM

  • One of two Amazon Kindle Fires
  • One of two free STC Summit registrations
  • A Microsoft wireless keyboard, mouse, and webcam
  • Toshiba - Canvio 320GB External Hard Driv
  • One of four $25 Amazon Gift cards

These prizes will be awarded by drawing, with entries to the drawing based on the gross number of new STC members recruited by the members of each chapter or SIG. Using the online application, the new member must provide their recruiter’s name plus the chapter or SIG to receive credit. We recommend that each chapter and SIG use the prizes as a raffle opportunity for their members to encourage participation.

Campaign Details

Each chapter or SIG must recruit a set number of new members (see below) to qualify for entry in each prize drawing. Every time the number of new member recruits is met, the chapter or SIG’s name will be entered into each prize drawing. If a Category 1 chapter recruits 10 new members, they receive two entries; if a Category 2 SIG recruits 60 new members, they receive three entries. The more entries, the greater the odds of winning one or more of the prizes for the members of your chapter. Be sure to remind new members to list your community in the referral field! You will not receive credit otherwise.

Chapter Categories

Chapters

  • Category 1 (15-40 members) must recruit 5 new members
  • Category 2 (41-75 members) must recruit 10 new members
  • Category 3 (76-150 members) must recruit 15 new members
  • Category 4 (151-300 members) must recruit 20 new members

SIGs

  • Category 1 (100 members or fewer) must recruit 10 new members
  • Category 2 (101-500 members) must recruit 15 new members
  • Category 3 (501-1,000 members) must recruit 20 new members
