Distinguished Senior Member Category
An open discussion on the possibility of creating a new membership category in STC.
Many senior members in STC have volunteered a significant amount of work for the Society, have been members for over ten years but are not associate fellows, because of the 3% allowance. These loyal volunteers never get formally recognized at the Society level. This group discusses the possibility of a new membership class “between” senior member and associate fellow to narrow the recognition gap.

East Bay

Established in 1962, the East Bay Chapter serves members in the corridor of Highways 580 and 680 in the San Francisco, East Bay Area. More than 40 members work in such diverse fields as software application development, hardware manufacturing, research, electronics, and telecommunications. Eastern Iowa
The mission of the Eastern Iowa Chapter of STC is to provide professional, social, and community service activities for technical communicators in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo, Dubuque, and the surrounding areas.
The Eastern Iowa Chapter of STC began in 1991 as a chapter of a greater (national) Society for Technical Communication (STC). As the Society evolved, so did the chapter. STC is now an international organization, the largest professional society in the world dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practice of technical communication.
This chapter offers industry leadership and the education, networking, and information required in a world where change is "the way it is."
