Announcements
The Rochester Chapter of STC is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals for Spectrum 2013, our 54th Annual Conference. This year's theme -- "Why Not The Best?" -- offers an opportunity to share your expertise on how we create and deliver the best and most innovative content, leadership, skills and technology that our profession offers.
Spectrum 2013 will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Rochester Institute of Technology in suburban Rochester, NY. We will also be holding these pre-conference and post-conference events:
-- a reception on the evening of Thursday, March 21
-- a 1/2-day Leadership Program on the morning of Saturday, March 23.
We invite you to participate by submitting a proposal for a presentation, workshop, panel, progression, or lightning talk. The Call for Proposals, along with information about the leadership program, is available for downloading on the STC Rochester Chapter website at http://www.stc-rochester.org.
We will be accepting proposals through January 4, 2013. We will notify all proposal submitters of our program decisions by Monday, January 21, 2013.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Lori Meyer and Wendy Ross, Spectrum 2013 Co-Chairs

Anyone planning on driving over from the Syracuse area? Not sure I am up for driving myself over and back alone, but if I had some company, it might be worth it. Looks like an interesting place, and I would like to get to know some of the members of this new-to-me chapter!
Opening reception - Sunday evening, April 22, 2012
Conference - all day Monday, April 23, 2012

For our document content management system, our company is currently using Documentum and moving to SharePoint. I am disappointed with the application of both of them. Documentum is the backend for our ancient fulfillment system and we use eRooms to save other files. it's difficult to find anything in either of those systems. I have heard SharePoint is supposed to be better, but I have also heard we are using it wrong by setting it up with the typical file folder structure. That's about all I can offer.
