AccessAbility

AccessAbility

Accessibility is an important part of the technical communicator's toolkit. You could say it's a cousin of usability (or is usability a cousin of accessibility?) We cover topics that relate to accessibility in the field of technical communication. Some people think accessibility is a niche topic and that it doesn't concern them. However, WHO states that all people have some sort of disability! The word accessibility works when talking about specific techniques for web design or development, but the word "inclusion" is catching on more and more. Inclusion indicates that your product or service welcomes everyone and has an attitude of respect and tolerance. Big words, but we aim high.
