Washington DC - Baltimore Chapter
The Washington, DC Chapter was chartered in December 1955 to provide education, networking, and job placement assistance services to technical communication professionals and employers. This group merged with the Metropolitan Baltimore Chapter in April 2011 to become the Washington DC - Baltimore Chapter. We serve a wide geographic area which includes Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, and some parts of West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
The chapter provides education, networking, and job placement assistance services to technical communication professionals and employers in the area.

Distinguished Senior Member Category
An open discussion on the possibility of creating a new membership category in STC.
Many senior members in STC have volunteered a significant amount of work for the Society, have been members for over ten years but are not associate fellows, because of the 3% allowance. These loyal volunteers never get formally recognized at the Society level. This group discusses the possibility of a new membership class “between” senior member and associate fellow to narrow the recognition gap.

Belgium
The Belgian Chapter was founded on March 6, 1997 by five enthusiastic technical communicators. Since then it has grown to a group of some 50 members and in 1998 won an award for the fastest growing chapter.
STC Belgium members include technical writers and editors, educators and students, graphic artists and technical illustrators, independent consultants and contractors, managers and supervisors, multimedia artists, photographers and audiovisual specialists, and translators.

The Central New York Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication consists of 70+ professionals and students in technical communications across Central New York, including Syracuse, Ithaca, Clinton, New Hartford, Poland, Utica, Rochester, Rome, Otsego, Owego, Binghamton and Johnson City.
