The mission of the Eastern Iowa Chapter of STC is to provide professional, social, and community service activities for technical communicators in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo, Dubuque, and the surrounding areas. The Eastern Iowa Chapter of STC began in 1991 as a chapter of a greater (national) Society for Technical Communication (STC). As the Society evolved, so did the chapter. STC is now an international organization, the largest professional society in the world dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practice of technical communication. This chapter offers industry leadership and the education, networking, and information required in a world where change is "the way it is."

In the Kansas City area, over 140 members work in such diverse fields as technical writing and editing, graphics, multimedia, Web development, and management. The local chapter has monthly programs that explore different areas of the technical communications field.

The Austin Peay State University chapter of the Society for Technical Communication is an organization for students planning careers involved with writing, editing, designing web pages, translating, or illustrating. STC supports technical communicators with training and networking to help them get jobs, work effectively, and advance in their careers. Tech writers make information usable.

Discussion Group for the Central Ohio chapter of STC

The Society for Technical Communication’s East Tennessee Chapter (STC-ETC) is the regional chapter for East Tennessee. STC-ETC provides a range of activities including an annual conference, membership meetings with guest speakers, community service, and technical publication and art competitions.

Meetings are free - all members, students and public guests are welcome. This Chapter is coming alive with many new members, fascinating new speakers, and rapidly expanding student involvement.
