Founded in 1958, the Rochester Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication is based in upstate New York. Although most members live and work in the metropolitan Rochester area, it is becoming more geographically diverse, with members living in several surrounding counties.

Orlando

Orange County
The Orange County Chapter of STC (OCSTC) provides networking and mentoring, educational, and employment information opportunities targeting those in the technical communication and allied professions. OCSTC accomplishes this by working singly, with other surrounding Southern California STC chapters, other related professional organizations, and the community at large.

Oklahoma
The Oklahoma chapter received its charter on May 1, 1977, and has been serving technical communicators of Oklahoma ever since. Its members include technical writers, editors, graphic designers, Web specialists, and many more. A number of its members are self-employed and work as freelancers or consultants.

Northern New England
The Northern New England (NNE) chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) was incorporated in 1983 to better serve the needs of members in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and northern Massachusetts. Membership in STC-NNE has grown dramatically since its inception.

Northeast Ohio
The Society for Technical Communication is the world’s largest professional organization for people involved in technical communication. The NEO STC is one of the largest communities in the U.S., drawing members from all over the Northeast Ohio region.
The members are writers, editors, graphic artists, web content managers, as well as usability experts, consultants, information managers, educators and students. They work in many industries including telecommunications, software, semiconductor, financial, medical and transportation. The community provides leadership and direction for its members and promotes professional growth through meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, mentoring, and networking.

NorthBay
The NorthBay Chapter serves technical communicators in Telecom Valley and includes Sonoma, Marin, Napa, and other counties in Northern California. Although the NorthBay Chapter is among the smallest chapters within STC's Region 8 and has existed only since 1994, technology continues to grow in our area. It has opportunities for interaction and creativity that a larger chapter might not afford.

New York Metro
The New York Metro Chapter comprises members from New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, other states, Canada and other countries.
The Chapter holds monthly area Live meetings and workshops in Manhattan which are all available virtually. Upcoming meetings are announced through meeting notices are sent to all chapter members and a distribution list.

Montreal
STC-Montreal is the Montreal chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. STC-Montreal holds monthly meetings between September and June, in the early evening. The regular monthly meetings are usually in the format of a guest speaker(s) and/or a presentation or workshop on some aspect of the field of technical communication.
