In my job, I write (that includes new content as well as maintaining/updating existing content), I edit, I create online help, I create training materials, I do presentations, I review content (for my developers and testers, for product managers, for management, for human resources), I host online meetings, I maintain a content management system, I manage a speakers bureau, I conduct team building activities. There are very few aspects of the technical communication industry that I don’t touch in a given month.

Ben Day

Day creates the operational manual and instructions for the iRobot PackBot, which soldiers use overseas to disable improvised explosive devises (IEDs) along roadsides. Without clear text and explanation, a soldier may not operate the PackBot correctly, resulting in many lives lost.
