Minnesota State University, Mankato’s technical communication program is a well-established program that serves resident students as well as 100% online learners from across the country—indeed, from around the world.

All degrees and certificates in technical communication may be completed entirely through online coursework. Students who are 100% online learners pay Minnesota resident tuition, rather than the higher non-resident rate, and students who are 100% online learners are eligible for the same kinds of financial support as on-campus students. Graduate students are eligible for some graduate assistantships (including some teaching assistantships), which provide full tuition remission and a stipend.

Students may begin their studies any semester, tailoring their degrees and certificates from a generous selection of required and elective courses. Students may complete the MA and certificate programs within a year and may complete the undergraduate major within two years. (See our tentative two-year course schedule.)

Students with professional experience may be able to receive credit for that experience through our credit by examination policy and may be able to substitute elective credits for the internship
