The DCSA acknowledges the work of chapter members who provide exemplary service to the Society through their dedication to the chapter and its activities. All chapter members are eligible for this award, with the exception of current voting members of the chapter administrative council and members of the chapter who have previously received the award from that chapter.

The DSSA recognizes the commitment and hard work of members of its special interest groups (SIGs). The award recognizes length of SIG membership, consistency of service over the time of membership, and variety of service. All SIG members are eligible for this award, with the exception of the current SIG Manager.

The DSAS recognizes exemplary dedication by student members to a student or professional community and its activities. Only members with student membership status during the entire period for which the award is given are eligible for the DSAS. The Society defines student membership status as taking two courses per term. A student may only receive this award once.
