Experimenting with Chapter Meeting Models

A recent blog by Tom Johnson about his chapter meeting started some conversations at STC. He blogged about the Intermountain Chapter's latest event, where they had a half-day meeting with multiple presentations on a Friday afternoon. It caught the eye of Judith Herr, co-chair (with Tricia Spayer) of the Community Affairs Council of the STC Board of Directors. She wrote:

This blog post by Tom Johnson, the STC Intermountain Chapter Website Committee Manager, demonstrates the Intermountain Chapter leaders’ resourceful approach to providing successful STC chapter meetings, networking, and workshops. By experimenting with scheduled times, day of the week, and offered programming for STC events, community leaders are providing benefits to more members.

Judith explained that the Community Affairs Committee is tasked with communicating approaches, hints, and lessons learned to STC community leaders. She also stated, “The CAC mission includes establishing two-way communication and co-operation between community leaders, the STC Board members, and staff.” As such, she welcomes suggestions from other community leaders as to new and different ways they're conducting meetings. Post them below for your fellow communities to share, and we'll be sure to forward them along to Judith and Tricia too!
