More Information on Student Voting Amendment at Summit’s Annual Business Meeting

STC’s Annual Business Meeting takes place Monday, 16 May, from 5:00-6:30 PM PDT (GMT-7) in Sacramento, CA, during the Technical Communication Summit. During the Annual Business Meeting, there will be a vote taken on a member-proposed amendment to the bylaws. The proposed amendment is to extend voting rights to student members of STC. (See the Notice of Annual Business Meeting for full details, including the agenda and rules. Note: A quorum of 100 members must be present to hold an official vote.)

The STC Board of Directors studied and discussed this issue in 2010 and wanted to share their findings in advance of the vote with any members interested in the discussion. Click here for a summary of the Board’s discussions from last year.

If you are attending this year’s Summit, please arrive early for the Annual Business Meeting as STC staff will need to confirm your member status and eligibility to vote on this matter.

  1. This was really interesting to me, as a student who just upgraded my membership to professional. I am very excited to see what happens with this!
