Community Achievement Award Applications and Guidelines Posted

The 2011 Community Achievement Award Guidelines and applications are now available.

SIGs, Chapters, and Student Chapters are all eligible to apply for the Community Achievement Awards. There are three levels of recognition: Merit, Excellence, and Distinction. The CAAs will be awarded at the 2012 STC Summit in Chicago-Rosemont. Based on their applications, two of the CAA honorees will also be recognized as “Most Improved Community” and “Community of the Year.”

The applications include only minor changes, so if your community planning was based on the 2010 application, you will be in line with the CAA requirements. The change of note is that Communities are required to submit a budget (geographic chapter, student chapter, and SIG), as well as submit an annual financial report and required tax filings (geographic and student chapters only) to qualify for the CAA; this was added because these are standard reporting requirements for the different types of STC Communities.

The 2011 application can also be used for 2012 planning, as it includes information about the major initiative for 2012: updating chapter bylaws.

Applications and supporting materials are due 23 January 2012 and should be emailed to:
Steve Skojec, Director of Community Relations
Tom Barnett, Community Achievement Award Chair
