Upcoming Webinar on 15 September: It’s All Fun and Games until Somebody Gets Sued

Find out why IP doesn't need to be a dirty word with Paul Pehrson and It's All Fun and Games until Somebody Gets Sued, Thursday, 15 September from 4:00-5:00 PM EDT (GMT-4). In this webinar, you will learn what content developers need to know about protecting and respecting intellectual property rights. You will see some examples of what not to do, and more importantly, learn tips to protect you and your work.

Content developers have a responsibility to respect intellectual property laws. Ignorance of, or disrespect for other people's intellectual property rights puts you, and your organization at risk of being sued. There are specific ways you can be sure you are respecting the intellectual property rights of other content creators.

The webinar will give examples of infringement, and interactively discuss with participants (1) how the example is infringing, and (2) what the content developer in the example would need to do to stop infringing. The presenter will discuss several ways that content developers can obtain licenses to use others' intellectual property. Finally, the presentation talks about how you can license your own property, and talks about being a “good neighbor” in the community by respecting others' rights, and sharing your work with others who request it.
