Deadlines for Sigma Tau Chi, Alpha Sigma Extended

The deadline to apply to the STC Student Honor Societies Sigma Tau Chi (STX) and Alpha Sigma (AS) has been extended to 26 October 2011.

Membership in STX is an honor given to students enrolled in a baccalaureate or graduate degree program in technical communication who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above, are exemplary in participation in STC, and demonstrate a potential for significant contribution to the profession.

Membership in AS is an honor given to students enrolled in enrolled in two-year college programs or standalone university-delivered certificate programs in technical communication who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above, demonstrate active participation in STC, and have the potential to contribute to the profession.

Membership in both honor societies is awarded once, and the honoree retains membership as long as they are members in good standing with the STC. The awards include a membership pin, certificate, gift certificate for STC branded merchandise, and a one-year free membership in STC.
