Recognition Wednesday: Most Improved Community and Community of the Year

We revealed most of the community-related awards on previous Recognition Thursdays, but there are two awards that remain secret until the Honors Banquet at the Summit: The Most Improved Community Award and the Community of the Year Award. These two awards debuted at the 2011 Summit in Sacramento, and the second winners of each were announced last night in Rosemont, Illinois.

The Most Improved Community is given to the community that “stepped up their game” the most from one year to the next, based on their applications for the Community Achievement Award, while the Community of the Year Award is presented to the community that had the highest score of all of the outstanding Communities of Distinction.

The Most Improved Community Award resulted in a tie. Congratulations to the Orlando Chapter and the Toronto Chapter for their improvement from 2010 to 2011!

And finally, the Community of the Year Award goes to … the Orlando Chapter!

Congratulations to the members and leadership of both of these outstanding chapters. And congratulations to everyone and all the communities honored last night at the Honors Banquet!
