STC Knowledge-Based Governance Survey on Community Funding

The way the Society funds communities is under review. Please take 15 minutes to share your opinions.

Currently, STC allocates funds to communities using a “Reserves Target” model, in which a community receives funding based on a projection of how much money they will have in reserves at the end of the year, after considering anticipated expenses and revenues. The STC Board understands that this model may not be working well for many of our communities.

A knowledge-based governance survey has therefore been created to describe and collect member input on the four funding alternatives being studied. Those alternatives are described in the survey. To learn more before completing the survey, you may review the playback of a 90-minute Leaders Resource webinar, “Community Funding: Alternatives.”

The survey will be open through Friday, 3 August 2012. We appreciate your completing the survey now at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KBTQTBJ.

A summary of the survey feedback will be published for members and provided to the STC Board of Directors. Your feedback and comments will factor into the Board's decision-making process on community funding. Please also consider joining the discussion in the MySTC All Community Leaders Group at https://www.stc.org/mystc (login required, but open to all members; click “Join Group” to be added).

Please note, comments have been disabled for this blog post. Please post any comments in the survey so that the Board can be sure to consider them in their discussions.
