Volunteers are the life blood of a community, but often seem to be in short supply. Without fresh or reinvigorated volunteers, communities will decline. With impassioned volunteers, communities will flourish. Using an analogy of train travel, this progression provides a framework for identifying, recruiting, and retaining volunteers.
Ben Woelk is a past president of the Rochester Chapter; architect, chair, and Board liaison of the Community Affairs Committee (CAC); and a Director of the Board of Directors for STC. Ben has identified and recruited numerous volunteers to the Rochester council, mentoring team, and the CAC Outreach Team. He’s a strong proponent of servant leadership and the importance of casting a vision.
