Guest post by Alyssa Fox, STC Secretary The STC Board of Directors meets monthly to conduct business. Following is an overview of what the board discussed in December 2013 and January 2014. The STC board of directors met in December and January to continue Society business and to plan and budget for the upcoming year in 2014. The board voted on the preliminary slate of candidates for the 2014 STC election and reviewed the petitioning process. The board also voted on STX Honor Society nominees and DCSA nominees. Chris Lyons, STC executive director, reported on current membership and CVP numbers, along with attendees at our educational offerings. Mr. Lyons and the board discussed various partnership initiatives as well. The board also voted to accept the new STC mission statement and focus areas. In the coming months, STC board and staff will continue looking at ways to fulfill the Society mission. The Student Outreach Task Force, led by Ms. Sally Henschel and Mr. Michael Opsteegh, reported on results of the recent student outreach survey and made recommendations to the board for future student involvement.
