Reminder: Jay R. Gould Award Call for Nominations

This is a reminder that STC is  now seeking nominees for the 2018 Jay R. Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching Technical Communication. Nominations are due by Monday, 2 October.

This award honors true academic mentorship; a record of successful students, defined as those who are involved in STC, and actively working in the profession; involvement in student activities outside of the classroom; innovation and creativity in teaching, and involvement in research that leads to changes in the way technical communication is taught.

Nominees must have belonged to the Society for Technical Communication for at least eight years, have been involved in post-secondary education for at least 15 years, and have made a primary career in teaching technical communication as a distinct discipline.  Nominees should also have a record of successful students, a pattern of acting as a mentor, and evidence of innovation and creativity in teaching.  For more details, visit https://www.stc.org/jay-r-gould-award-excellence-teaching/.

Please send your nominations to Pam Estes Brewer, Chair of the Gould Nominating Committee, at brewer_pe@mercer.edu on or before 2 October 2017.  Include the name of the nominee, their email address, and a brief note describing your reason for making the nomination.
