Weekly Education Roundup: Free STC Member-Only Webinars

School's back in session! Make the most of your membership by beefing up your education report card. This week, we've got a wealth of FREE member-only webinars.

This Week:

Tomorrow, Matt Sullivan returns with a fresh Adobe-sponsored STC member-only webinar: In the Midst of Chaos, There is Also Opportunity (Putting Together a FrameMaker Battle Plan). Matt will demonstrate his step-by-step roadmap for template-driven success using FrameMaker. You can submit questions for Matt in advance by emailing matt@techcommtools.com. The webinar takes place tomorrow from 2:00-3:00 PM EDT (GMT-4).

On Thursday, Fabrice Lacroix of Antidot and Fluid Topics presents a free member-only webinar on using analytics to gain valuable insight into your documentation. By combining the latest delivery, text-mining and analytics technologies, you can transform tech content into a sensor and its delivery into a data generator, unleashing a tremendous potential of information innovation. The Next Era of Analytics: Derive Insights from Your Documentation Utilization takes place on 19 October from 2:00-3:00 PM EDT (GMT-4).

Also starting Thursday, one of our most popular online courses returns: TechComm Fundamentals Bootcamp with Leah Guren! It's the fastest, most efficient way to jump-start your career in technical communication, whether you're just starting out or need a refresher. The course runs from 19 October through 14 December (Thursdays, skipping 26 October  and 23 November) from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM EST (GMT-4/5).

Finally, on Friday we've got a free member-only CAC webinar with an unusual topic: ethics. Derek G. Ross, PhD and editor of STC's Ethics column in Intercom magazine, introduces ethics and how it relates to and can improve technical communication. Derek will also discuss ethics in tech comm as it relates to STC's sex ethical principles: legality, honesty, confidentiality, quality, fairness, and professionalism. Why Ethics?: Interpreting “Ethics” and What STC’s Ethical Principles (Can) Do takes place on 20 October from noon-1:00 PM EDT (GMT-4).
