Summit Track Spotlight: Training Development and Delivery

By Michael Opsteegh, Track Manager

Whether or not you call yourself an instructional designer or educator, so much of technical communication involves educating our customers, our internal stakeholders, and even our managers. With instruction and education being a major focus of our work, I invite you to check out the Training Development and Delivery track at this year’s Technical Communication Summit.

While we’ve assembled an impressive collection of speakers and topics across disciplines and industries, I only have space to highlight two sessions here. More to come in a future post.

Given our current situation of distance learning, I think educators and curious practitioners will also be interested in the “Testing Accessibility for Usability” session, in which Jessica Lee, Shaun Marquardt, and Sushil Oswal demonstrate how to bring accessibility to the forefront of the introductory technical communication college course. This session is set for Tuesday, 19 May at 5:00 PM EDT.

I’m also particularly interested in the “Murdered by Mobile” session, in which Kevin Siegel explains how to identify and mediate common problems that derail mobile elearning initiatives. This session is scheduled for Wednesday, 20 May at 8:00 AM EDT.

For more details on each Training Development and Delivery session, see the Full Schedule on the Summit website and select “Training Development and Delivery” in the Tracks section on the left. We look forward to seeing you online for the 2020 STC Summit!
