In recent years, digital creation has become a more participatory process. As media companies struggle to maintain control over their own products, consumers continually demand more access to the creative process and more input on the final results. While this may seem on the surface to be a simple matter of intellectual property, a closer examination of trends reveals that both consumers and media companies have much to gain (and lose) from this debate.
STC is proud to announce that one STC community and the STC staff recently were named winners in APEX 2017, the 29th Annual Awards for Publication Excellence. APEX Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communication excellence.
STC gives out two awards for the exemplary work published in Intercom: the best article of the year and the best guest-edited issue of the year. This year’s judging team for the awards consisted of Saul Carliner (Chair), Michelle Despres, Linda Oestreich, Kirk St.Amant, Marta Rauch, and Kelly Schrank.
