This is one in a series of posts highlighting the activities and contributions of STC's communities. If you belong to a community and have important news or a key event to share, please email James Cameron at james.cameron@stc.org.

The Community Affairs Committee just announced a new webinar intended for STC community leaders and members interested in education and event planning: Event Planning 101 with Carolyn Kelley Klinger and Viqui Dill of the Washington DC-Baltimore Chapter. The webinar takes place this Friday, 26 August, at noon EDT (GMT-4). The CAC has the details:

About the Webinar

STC leaders, your community members want to get together. Let’s make it happen. Using tools like Eventbrite, Basecamp, and Google Drive, our speakers have collectively planned nearly 200 STC events and will share their lessons learned with you.

We will discuss everything from how to get ideas for a good event, to setting up the event online, printing out name badges, and paying the speaker. Bring your experience and join in the discussion. Bring your questions and get answers from all attendees.

About the Audience

This presentation is for STC community leaders, past, present, and future. Whether you hope to plan face to face meetings or online webinars, you will learn some tips and tricks (and mistakes NOT to make) from the speakers and attendees.

Her highest priority now is mentoring new leaders who can take the chapter into the future while also strengthening their own careers.
