Fun Times at the STC Office Holiday Party

Your STC staff held their office holiday party yesterday (a bit early, yes, but we wanted to make sure everyone would be there). We headed for a late lunch at Sea Pearl, a wonderful restaurant about a mile from the office (Your Friendly Neighborhood Blogger had the mac and cheese with garlic shrimp; deeelish!), then retired to the restaurant's lounge area for both Secret Santa (“real” gifts) and White Elephant (gag gifts) gift exchanges. The hit of the White Elephant gift exchange was a festive headband, modeled here by CEO Kathryn Burton, who ended up taking it home.

Also a part of the festivities was a Door Decorating Contest; the contest runs through next week, but the early entries are already done. The theme this year was holiday songs, and we have entries for Let it Snow, Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer, Twelve Days of Christmas, and Frosty the Snowman. Which one is your favorite?

Speaking of the Twelve Days of Christmas … what would be the items in The Twelve Days of a Technical Communication Christmas? Any thoughts?

  4. For the door decoration contest, my favorite is “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer.” I enjoyed all of them, though. The door decoration contest is a nice way to kick of the 2010 holiday season. Best wishes to all of you for a joyous holiday!
