STC Office Holiday Party

Stately STC Manor was home to our holiday party yesterday, with some fun team-building activities leading up to a great lunch at Ozzie's Corner Italian, the newest addition to the local Great American Restaurant chain (for those of you familiar with this area).

For the second time in three years, Your Friendly Neighborhood Blogger won the door decorating contest, with a vaguely tech-comm-ish decoration (in that it included a flow chart). Bonus points to the first person who gets what the flow chart signifies! Click the photo for a larger version.

We also had a “Guess that Elf” contest where all employees submitted a baby photo and what they wanted to be when they grew up. Congratulations to Director of Publications Liz Pohland, who got 22 out of 26 correct!

One final note: Anyone looking for a fun holiday team-building exercise for a group of 10-15 people that results in a tasty treat to eat, shoot me an email!

Happy holidays to all!

    1. Oh, no hinting needed — I’ll just give you the answer! It’s a flowchart rendition of My Favorite Things from the movie The Sound of Music. Rather than following the order of the song, it follows the theoretical order of events. At the top, “when the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad”; then going down in each row are visual representations of the things the singer thinks of (raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, for example); and then at the bottom it flows into “and then I don’t feel so bad.”
