Update on the My STC Network

Thank you to all the community leaders who helped test out the My STC Network. We invited community leaders in on Thursday, 14 April, to look around and let us know what they thought, and the staging server was returned to restricted mode Monday morning.

The bugs they helped uncover (duplicate logins, duplicative group listings, profile update errors, group integration issues with auto-add/auto-remove of members, etc.) have been moved to the top of the list for our development team to fix. They’ll work through the list this week so that we can determine an ETA on the completed My STC Network. Stay tuned for an announcement about the official public launch.

We’re also considering the implementation of some of their requested features, and where possible, we will continue to identify and implement the best modules and plugins to meet those requests. Some of the additional features will be available at launch, and we’ll continue to roll others out over the coming weeks as part of the “perpetual beta” status of the site depending on a variety of factors (e.g., member interest, budget, etc.). We’re particularly interested in adding forums and chat.

The feedback of these community leaders has been an invaluable part of this process, and we’re extremely grateful for their participation in this test. Thanks again for your help!

  1. Thanks for allowing community members to play tester on the new MySTC area. As a Board member, I appreciated the opportunity to use the new area as I normally would, and find issues that were truly issues (instead of operator error).
