In 2016, members of the Usability and User Experience SIG will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the SIG and earn prizes. The Usability and User Experience SIG will conduct three competitions: Research, Writing, and Educational Scholarship. These competitions are only open to members of the Usability and User Experience SIG!
Research Competition
Rules:
- Write an original article about usability (e.g., User Adaptation, Cognitive Psychology, Information Architecture, Accessibility, User Assistance, Mobile Applications, Cloud Computing, or how a particular product changed society).
- How many words: 1000 words
- Format: RTF or PDF

- Winners will receive Amazon gift cards. First prize is $150, second prize is $50, and third prize is $25.
- Deadline for submission: March 31, 2016
Writing Competition
Rules:
- Describe what you learned by attending the annual Summit or certificate course that you applied to improving usability of a product or service.
- How many words: 1000 words
- Format: RTF or PDF
- Where to send the article: davidjdick2000@yahoo.com
- Prize: One winner — $500 to use for registration to the annual summit.
- Deadline for submission: March 31, 2016
Educational Scholarship
Rules:
- Write an original article about you benefited from STC educational programs (e.g., Summit, webinar, online course).
- How many words: 1000 words
- Format: RTF or PDF
- Where to send the article: davidjdick2000@yahoo.com
- Two winners will be chosen. The prize is $200 to use towards any STC Educational Program
- Deadline for submission: March 31, 2016
