Weekly Education Roundup: Telemedicine and Proposal Writing in Context

Spring has sprung with brand new STC education! Make the most of your membership by beefing up your education report card.

This week:

Telemedicine (or telehealth) is a relatively new method of healthcare delivery in which consultation, diagnosis, and treatment are provided over the phone or Internet. Because of how new the system is, it requires technical communicators to help create universal standards and procedures, improve communications, and take into account patient, consumer, and subject matter expert input. Find out how technical communicators can get involved with this exciting field in Telemedicine: Implementation, Communications, and Implications for TC. The webinar is tomorrow, 4 April, at 2:00 PM EDT (GMT-4).

Next week:

Tech comm pros, with the right guidance and context, have the fundamental skills needed to write effective proposals. Proposal Writing in Context is a new STC online course that introduces professional writers to the activities, responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities that characterize proposals written to receive funding. The course begins next week and runs on Thursdays from 12 April through 17 May at 11:00 AM EDT (GMT-4).
