Index Evaluation Workshop Returns to STC Summit

Guest post by Cheryl Landes For the first time since 2006, STC is sponsoring an Index Evaluation Workshop this year at the Summit in Sacramento. This session offers a one-on-one discussion with an experienced indexer who will evaluate an index you have created or are currently creating. You bring to the workshop an index to be evaluated. Each attendee will receive 25 minutes of consultation. You can use this time to ask specific questions or address particular concerns that you have—or you may ask the evaluator to provide a general, open-ended critique of your index. If you’re interested, you need to schedule an appointment for one of the two 25-minute sessions and submit your indexes before the conference. The deadline to submit indexes is Monday, 2 May, so that the assigned reviewers have ample time to complete a thorough assessment. As a result, no walk-ins will be accepted for this workshop. This year’s workshop will be held on Tuesday, 17 May, from 10-11 a.m. Appointment slots are from 10:00-10:25 AM and 10:30-10:55 AM.
