Prepare to be entertained! For more than 50 years, Second City has been making Chicagoans laugh with its special blend of sketch comedy and improv. If you’re arriving early to the Summit, you too will have the opportunity to visit the famous theatre where John Belushi, Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, John Candy, Mike Myers, Chris Farley, George Wendt, Martin Short, Steve Carell, Steven Colbert, Tina Fey, and many others got their start. On Saturday, 19 May, at 5:30 PM, join us on a coach bus ride into the city that gave Second City its name. Participants have a choice of one of three restaurants within walking distance: If your tastes lean toward…                     You should choose… Chile rellenos and margaritas                   Adobo Grill Sushi rolls and tempura                              Kamehachi Linguine and saltimboca                            Topo Gigio A tour guide will lead you to the restaurant you select and make sure you get back to the theatre in time for the show. Dinner and beverages are not included in the cost of the tour, so you’ll have to pay for them separately. (You can also opt to eat at the theatre, which offers sandwiches and finger foods.) After dinner, a show chock full of social and political satire, musical creativity, and spontaneous humor based on audience suggestions will make you laugh ’til your sides ache, and you won’t want to leave. Many years ago, I was lucky enough to see Bonnie Hunt perform at Second City before she became BONNIE HUNT. Who knows who you’ll see? The cost of the tour is $67. For more information and to make a dinner reservation, visit our Tour Options page. You can register for the tour when you register for the conference.
