Rosemont. Chicago. What’s the difference? Well, if you ask a Chicago resident, Rosemont is a suburb of Chicago, about 30 minutes from the heart of downtown. But if you ask the casual traveler, Rosemont is a part of the greater Chicagoland, with direct access to the city of Chicago and conveniently close to O’Hare. But I do want to be clear: Rosemont is not in downtown Chicago, and to get to Chicago you have to take the train (30 minutes) or drive (45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic). Now, this doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Chicago. The city is easily accessible, and whether you’re planning to train in for dinner or spend the whole day sightseeing, you have options. For those of you who want to see Chicago, STC Chicago is organizing tours that will get you out of the hotel and into the city. But, if organized excursions aren’t your style, I’m sure smaller groups of folks will venture into the city for dinner and drinks. I know I plan to.
