Craig Baehr, Ph.D., is an STC Fellow and Professor of Technical Communication and Director of Graduate Studies at Texas Tech University, with 25 years of technical communication experience. He serves as Chief Examiner of the Certified Professional Technical Communicator Program, Chair of the Certification Committee, Faculty Advisor for the STC Texas Tech University Student Chapter, and Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication. Dr. Baehr is author of three books, Web Development: A Visual-Spatial Approach, Writing for the Internet: A Guide to Real Communication in Virtual Space, and The Agile Communicator: Principles and Practices in Technical Communication. Dr. Baehr has published, presented, and taught a wide range of topics, including instructional design, content strategy, hypertext theory, Web development, and visual communication. Previously, he worked in industry as a technical writer, editor, Web developer, and program director for ten years for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, served as Director-at-large on the STC Board of Directors, Chair of the Technical Communication Body of Knowledge (TCBOK) project, and Program Director of the Academic SIG. Dr. Baehr is recipient of the STC President’s Award, Jay R. Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching, Distinguished SIG Service Award, Distinguished Technical Communication Award, and two U.S. Army Achievement Medals for Civilian Service.
