Craig Baehr – Associate Fellow
For significant contributions to research and application of online technical communication to create connections between educators and practitioners of technical communication.
Craig Baehr is a tenured associate professor of technical communication, having taught at the university level for more than twelve years. Craig is the author of two books, Web Development: A Visual-Spatial Approach and Writing for the Internet, along with numerous articles, book chapters, and conference presentations. His work addresses important issues in digital rhetoric and online publishing, including specific topics such as Web development, Internet writing, content management, elearning, hypertext theory, and visual design.
Craig worked as a technical writer/editor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for over 10 years prior to his appointment as a professor of technical communication. He has won the STC Distinguished Technical Communication Award and STC Community of Excellence Award, as well as two U.S. Army Achievement Medals for his work as a technical communicator. He continues to serve as an independent consultant on website projects for industry and nonprofit organizations, and for service-learning projects for his students.
