Mark Randol Zachry – Associate Fellow

Mark Randol Zachry started working as a technical communicator in the aerospace and technology industries in 1987. During his early career, his projects included documentation to support ISO 9001 certification of a company; transition of an extensive command media set to an online, dynamic repository; and development of online technical training using one of the first commercial hypermedia authoring environments (HyperCard). In 1994, he left industry to pursue a PhD in technical communication at Iowa State University. Upon completing that degree in 1998, he became a professor of technical communication at Utah State University and then at University of Washington in 2006.
