Michael Harvey – fellows
For dedicated work in the service of clear and effective communication and for tireless leadership of the Carolina Chapter of STC.
Michael Harvey’s career in technical communication began as a writer for AT&T, writing some of the original UNIX documentation. A highlight of his career was teaching technical writing at Durham Technical Community College, where he overhauled the lecture-based curriculum by changing the focus to independent research and new technology. After joining STC in 1988, he served the Carolina Chapter in a variety of roles, including president and newsletter managing editor. He became an STC Associate Fellow in 2006. He served the UUX SIG as treasurer in 2009. He now works as a statistical writer for SAS Institute.
