Leadership Community Resource (LCR): A Valuable Tool for Community Leaders

The Leadership Community Resource (LCR) is the STC’s structure for providing support and guidance to communities. The LCR provides expert volunteer guidance, formal coaching and mentoring in specific leadership areas, support for communities in crisis, and resources for new and prospective leaders.

During this time of economic uncertainty, the LCR is an excellent resource for community leaders and is made up of dedicated and knowledgeable members who are eager to help communities. The LCR website contains many documents designed to provide leaders with information necessary for performing their leadership tasks, as well as a calendar of important dates and deadlines for community leaders. There is also information about who to contact for help with various leadership tasks, such as creating a budget.

There are many useful documents housed on the LCR page, such as the new budget template to help chapters use zero-based budgeting. This is located under the “Supporting Documents for the Budgeting Web Seminar” heading. This main page also includes documents on the current financial situation.  Another important document is the executive summary, which is a critical piece of information necessary to understanding the background of the financial crisis . Other documents pertaining to chapter finances can be found at www.stc.org/stcmembers/chFinances01.asp.

To access the Leadership Community Resource, click on the LCR button which is located to the far right under the large blue Member button at STC.org or go to www.stc.org/LCR/Index.asp.
