Yesterday I blogged about our holiday party and a game, Guess Which Elf, in which each staffer here at Stately STC Manor provided a piece of trivia about themselves and the rest of the office had to guess who they applied to. Below we have the answers, with more details as available (read: if folks were in the office this week for me to ask). Were you right? Enjoy!
- This staffer’s first concert ever attended was The Monkees, with opening acts of Herman’s Hermits along with Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.
Kevin Cuddihy. He attended The Monkees’ 20th anniversary reunion tour in 1986 at the age of 13. - This staffer was a “roadie” for a band.
Diana Buttram. She was a general roadie and sound tech for her friends’ country band, Big Night Out. - This staffer met Mother Teresa in Rome.
Susan Burton. Susan was in Rome in the mid-nineties and struck up a friendship with a fellow traveler from Canada. This Canadian was in Rome specifically to meet Mother Teresa, and invited Susan to join her for a late-night audience. - This staffer caught a mother and her daughter jumping from the top floor of their burning townhome.
Selena Roberts. In July 2008, Selena was driving in Baltimore and stopped to offer help at a burning townhome. Selena caught the daughter and then broke two ribs breaking the fall of the mother. - This staffer took part in three TV & movie productions in the US and abroad.
Marta Sokol. Marta was an extra for the 2009 movie State of Play. She also appeared as a dancer in a Bollywood movie and a Polish TV documentary. - This staffer tutored gang members in a juvenile detention center.
Julia O’Connor. While at Pepperdine University, Julia volunteered at a nearby juvenile detention center in Calabasas, CA. She tutored gang members in math, history, English, and other core fields. - This staffer was too small to play football, so he was in the marching band.
Lloyd Tucker. At 5’7″ and 110 pounds in high school, Lloyd decided football wasn’t for him. Instead, he played trumpet in the marching band. - This staffer once was a syndicated cartoonist with weekly cartoons appearing in more than 400 newspapers.
Tom Gorski. Tom created military-related cartoons, including Voluntears and Gorski’s Army, that were published in newspapers on military bases and military communities, as well as Stars and Stripes and Army Times. - This staffer played the violin for 5 years.
Olga Bonilla. Olga played violin in school, from the fourth grade through the ninth grade. Why’d she stop? “I didn’t like the music teacher,” she said. - This staffer has “bumped” into over 50 celebrities, including 2 U.S. presidents.
Stacey O’Donnell. - This staffer used to go horseback riding.
Omar Terrie. - This staffer used to race motorcycles.
Shaf Syed. He stopped after an injury.
