Today’s Project Phoenix Week post comes from Kit Brown-Hoekstra, Chair of the Globalization Audit Task Force. She writes briefly on their upcoming plans and where the Task Force will be pitching in on Project Phoenix.
The future of STC is a global one, and technology makes the world smaller every year. Currently, STC serves technical communicators all over the world, with members in over 40 countries. One goal of STC is to serve all its members equitably, regardless of geography. To that end, the Globalization Audit Task Force (GATF) is working to identify ways that STC can communicate more effectively with members about global issues, benefits, etc. The GATF is working with Project Phoenix to evaluate the STC portal for globalization issues, and GATF members are contacting a sample of members from around the world to conduct “person-on-the-street” interviews.
These interviews will be conducted over the next several weeks by phone, Skype, or chat, and are intended to help STC better understand the needs of the membership and to build connections. If you are contacted by the GATF, please take the time to respond to the interview. Your responses will be confidential, and will be very helpful in determining an effective global strategy for the years to come.
How can I help?
