The Harlem Shake is one of the latest, greatest, online memes, and STC is going to join the fun at the STC Summit! If you’re not familiar with the videos for this, search on the term on YouTube. Videos typically start out with one person dancing to the infectious song, and then devolve into madness.
At the STC Summit Opening Session, then, STC will be filming for our very own Harlem Shake video. We’ll pretape STC President Alan Houser and his funky moves for the opening part of the video, and then prior to starting the Opening Session will conduct several takes with the audience to put together the final product.
In general, the more outlandish the participants the better. But we want to make this specifically a technical communication version, so we’re looking for people to volunteer to bring and wear the following costumes (some are specific, while others are more esoteric):
- Slide rule
- Tina the Tech Writer from Dilbert
- The concept of “globalization”
- Your favorite software package
- Dancing banana
- A living keyboard (note: needs ~50 members to coordinate)
- Red pen
- Lary Ploofsdai
- Anything else you think fits!
Even if you don’t have a costume, please plan on showing off your moves to make this a truly great video. For more information or if you have any questions, please contact STC.
