The STC Carolina Chapter is now accepting applications for the Ernie Mazzatenta Scholarship. The value of the scholarship is $500.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit and promise of future contribution to the field of technical communication. Currently enrolled Clemson University undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a degree or concentration in some aspect of technical communication are eligible to apply.
To be considered for the scholarship, applications must include:
- Resume with contact information
- Transcript (an unofficial transcript is acceptable)
- Personal statement (approximately one or two typed pages) including a description of the applicant’s educational and professional plans and how those professional plans are related to the field of technical communication
- Two samples of technical documents such as reports, proposals, handbooks, newsletters, brochures, manuals, sets of instructions, or Web pages (provide URL) to which the applicant has made significant contributions, with an explanation of the role the applicant had in their preparation and the software they used to prepare the documents.
- Two letters of recommendation from former or current professors and/or employer.

Send your application to secretary@stc-carolina.org by 5:00 PM EDT (GMT-4) on Tuesday, 30 April 2013. The recipient will be notified by 31 May 2013. Awards will be distributed through the Clemson University Financial Aid Office and go towards the 2013-2014 school year.
