Upcoming Webinar on 11 June: Introduction to Quality Document Translation

On Tuesday, 11 June, from 10:00-11:00 AM EDT (GMT-4), Asher Abraham presents the live Web seminar Introduction to Quality Document Translation. Below is a guest blog post from Asher about the webinar; we invite you to join us on Tuesday!

After speaking with many technical communicators and documentation managers who are directly or indirectly in charge of a company’s localization quality, I’m always amazed at the level of impact they can have on a company’s global expansion success.

When documentation contain vital information and is a critical piece of the user experience, the translation quality can make the difference between a successful market penetration and adaptation of a localized product or complete failure. And since there’s a lot at stake, it is imperative to understand the process of technical translation and document localization, to ensure the language provider is skilled enough and capable of executing the project requirements that will meet expectations and quality standards.

In the upcoming webinar Introduction to Quality Document Translation, I will focus on the three components that make a localization project a success: quality translators, appropriate tools, and a full process.

Webinar attendees will learn:

  • What makes a quality translator, and how the Language Service Providers (LSPs) select them and manage their performance
  • What role technology plays and what the benefits are of using the right tools in the process of translation
  • What each step of the process is and why each one is important to ensure quality results

This webinar will provide an inside look at what happens at the language provider side, and more importantly, why it’s done that way. The webinar is also designed to provide technical communicators and documentation managers practical information they can apply in their roles as they go about translating and localizing company material and products.
