Guest post by Ben Woelk, Rochester Chapter
Join STC Rochester on 13-15 April 2014 at Rochester Institute of Technology for Spectrum 2014, STC Rochester’s 55th annual conference.
Our theme this year is “Communicating to Understanding: Core Competency, Core Value.” Our conference seeks to empower technical communication professionals and students considering a profession in technical communication to build a business case for new ideas and technology, share their knowledge, and lead change in their organization. Attendees will learn technical and soft skills that support their professional goals and add value to their roles as technical communicators.
Our employers and clients rely on us to communicate to understanding. When we do, we meet our audiences where they are and deliver what they need when they need it. We explore new tools, strategies, and media to conform to customer workflows. We improve product usability. We enrich users’ experiences with the information we deliver. We strengthen our relationships.
When we communicate to understanding, we help our companies, ourselves, and each other thrive.
